How Do I.?
To make an appointment to see a doctor or nurse
please ring the surgery. We encourage patients to book
on the day the appointment is needed. There are some
appointments that can be booked up to a month ahead. In
general these are reserved for those who are less able
to attend the surgery at short notice (i.e. commuters).
If you have a particular wish for a pre-booked
appointment please tell the receptionist.
If you prefer to see a particular doctor or nurse, you
should tell the receptionist when you call. If your
preferred doctor is not available, you may be asked to
call back on another day. If non urgent it might be
possible to arrange a prebooked appointment.
We do our best to balance the need for people to be seen
when acutely unwell and the need for people to be able
to organise their doctors visits in advance.
Our busiest times tend to be first thing in the morning,
particularly on Monday. If you call at this time, you
may find the phone lines are very busy. Leaving your
call until a little later overcomes this difficulty. We
may have free appointments, so please call even if it is
later in the morning.
If you find, having made an appointment, that you are
unable to attend please let the reception know even if
at very short notice. We are often able to fill those
appointments. Missing an appointment without letting us
know often means somebody else can't be seen. |
